2012 New York Mets Predictions
As I’m sure most of you know, I am a Mets fan. Yes, I know, they’re not very good but I don’t care because they are my team and I stick by them. Since I am a Mets fan I will make my predictions on every players numbers for the year. All I can tell you right now is they wont be pretty. I will go on record and say the Mets will finish dead last in the NL East. I have picked the new look Miami Marlins to win the East and be followed in order by the Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, and the Mets. I think its very possible that the Mets can be in the 75-80 win range if everyone stays healthy and plays to their potential. A lineup featuring David Wright, and rising stars Ike Davis, Lucas Duda, and Daniel Murphy can show something. Also, a rotation that features Johan Santana, R.A. Dickey, and Jon Niese can definitely make things interesting if all remain healthy, but that’s a big question mark. Lets stop with the negativity and sad talk about the Mets and look to the future as the Mets have four big time pitching prospects that are being highly touted as the next generation of New York Mets pitching. Those four pitchers are Matt Harvey, Jeryus Familia, Zack Wheeler, and Jenrry Mejia. Harvey and Familia are the most MLB ready and have very good chances to break the Mets rotation out of spring training in 2013. Mejia had Tommy John surgery last March and is on the slow road to recovery and also has a chance to maybe make the rotation at some point in 2013. Zack Wheeler could make an appearance late in 2013 but assuming he keeps improving, he’s more likely to become a full time member of the rotation in 2014. Its far away but it is something to look forward to. Now, without further ado, here are my 2012 Mets predictions.
1.Andres Torres: .255 AVG, 7 HR’s, 39 RBI’s, 21 SB’s.
