Post Week 10 NFL Top 12 Power Rankings
Last week I released my post week nine NFL top 12 power rankings, after not releasing week eight’s version due to my power being out from hurricane Sandy. Well, you don’t have to worry about that this week because no storms are in sight and week 10 is officially over. Three of last weeks top 12 teams lost this week and one of them TIED! We’ll see what the tie does to that team and who that team is in a few moments. It was a solid week 10 of NFL action, but definitely not the best we’ve seen. The game of the week featured the 7-1 Chicago Bears hosting the 7-1 Houston Texans. It rained all game, which made for a very ugly, wild, and sloppy game, that the road team narrowly escaped to win. I hope we can maybe get a rematch in the Super Bowl in a more clean game perhaps. Anyways, let’s get to this weeks rankings.
.Houston Texans (8-1) defeated Chicago Bears 13-6. Last Week (2). The Texans squeak out a sloppy win in Chicago in the rain and maintain a one game lead in the AFC for the race for the #1 seed with Baltimore.
.Atlanta Falcons (8-1) lost to New Orleans Saints 31-27. Last Week (1). The Falcons finally lose their first game and get the pressure off their back of going undefeated and can focus on just gunning for the NFC’s #1 seed.
.Baltimore Ravens (7-2) defeated Oakland Raiders 55-20. Last Week (7). The Ravens demolish the Raiders and are going to fight tooth and nail for that AFC #1 seed with Houston and Denver.
.Green Bay Packers (6-3) BYE WEEK. Last Week (4). The Packers hit the bye week at an important time and watch the team in front of them in the NFC North, the Bears, lose. Now the Packers are one game behind Chicago for the NFC North lead.
.Chicago Bears (7-2) lost to Houston Texans 13-6. Last Week (3). The Bears get beat at home by the Texans but they also lose Jay Cutler to a concussion and have to play with Jason Campbell at QB now.
.San Francisco 49ers (6-2-1) tied with St.Louis Rams 24-24. Last Week (6). The 49ers play to a surprising tie with the division rival Rams at home and are put in a tough spot in the division with Seattle winning.
.New England Patriots (6-3) defeated Buffalo Bills 37-31. Last Week (8). The Patriots put up big points but the defense yet again fails big time, this time allowing 31 points to their division rivals. The Pats have to fix this defense quick.
.Denver Broncos (6-3) defeated Carolina Panthers 36-14. Last Week (9). Peyton Manning and the Broncos are hot. They are trying to make a run for the AFC’s #1 seed that they sit two games back of, but with Peyton Manning at the helm, they could win every game from here on out and go 13-3.
.Seattle Seahawks (6-4) defeated New York Jets 28-7. Last Week (11). The Seahawks romp the Jets at home and are gunning for the NFC West division title as they sit with the same amount of wins as the Niners, but two more losses. The tie by San Fran could help Seattle though.
.Indianapolis Colts (6-3) defeated Jacksonville Jaguars 27-10. Last Week (12). The Colts continue to impress, this time stomping out their lowly division rivals in Jacksonville. This looks like a playoff team in Indianapolis and they have a great looking future. Andrew Luck was a great choice for Indy.
.Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) defeated Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 (OT). Last Week (10). The Steelers barely escape with a win at home against the lowly Kansas City Chiefs. To boot the scary almost loss, they lost starting QB Ben Roethlisberger to a sprained shoulder and the Steelers are gearing up to play without Big Ben for a few weeks reportedly. Not good.
.New York Giants (6-4) lost to Cincinnati Bengals 31-13. Last Week (5). The Giants get embarrassed in Cincinnati and finally get their bye week at their most crucial point in the season. Will they go into another November swoon or will the bye week help them find themselves and come back out looking a top three team in the NFC? Stay tuned.
